Brandon Marshall kneels during the National Anthem of the NFL Season-Opener

For TOP TRENDING NEWS STORIES TODAY, I'm Julius Purnomo, and during the NFL's season opener on Thursday night, Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall kneeled in support of fellow NFL player Colin Kaepernick during the National Anthem. Marshall, who played with the 49ers QB in college, recently spoke with the Colorado Springs Gazette, telling them that he fully supports Kaepernick's decision to sit out during the anthem. "I understand where he’s coming from," he said, adding, "I definitely see what he’s saying. I support him on that.

Naturally, all of the stuffy and ignorant people on Twitter called out the Broncos player, writing some pretty offensive things like,  Who the hell cares about an overpaid pansy ass punk that can run fast?" Boycott @Broncos It should also be no surprise that the woman who wrote this Tweet is wearing a "Make America Great Again Hat" in her profile picture, so she's automatically disqualified. But still, it's got to hurt to not only be criticized, but attacked for your beliefs and what you think is right. Sure, you've got to show respect to the ones that deserve it, but both Marshall and Kaepernick have good reason as to why they're making such a bold and courageous statement.
 
Last month, Kaepernick famously refused to stand during the National Anthem as a way of protesting the injustices that he believes African Americans and other minorities face in the United States. The incident quickly became the centre of attention, causing a controversy like no other  with many criticising Kaepernick's actions. But despite this, a lot of notable names, including Steph Curry, J. Cole, and Trey Songz, have expressed their support for the 49ers QB, applauding him for taking a stand.

Net Robinson agreed to join the Denver Nuggets

Nate Robinson and the Denver Nuggets have come to an agreement over a two-year contract worth a cut of over $4million.
