Cale dies
The performer and producer's manager Mike Kappus has told The Associated Press that the architect of the Tulsa Sound died Friday night of a heart attack at Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, Calif. Born John Weldon Cale in Oklahoma City, he cut a wide path through 1970s rock 'n' roll, influencing some of the most famous musicians at the time with songs that were laid back and mellow, yet imbued with a driving groove.

Neil Young, Mark Knopfler and Bryan Ferry are among his many fans in the music world. A former member of the Grand Ole Opry touring company, JJ Cale never rose to the level of success of his admirers, but his fingerprints could be heard all over the genre in the 1970s, and his music remains influential.

In 1977 Clapton also popularised Cale's Cocaine. The two worked together on an album which won a Grammy award in 2008. Building up on the success of After Midnight, he recorded Naturally - the first of his 14 studio albums. He pioneered the use of drum machines, and was famous for his personal laid-back singing style.

However Cale always described himself as a songwriter rather than a singer, and his songs tended to enjoy greater success when performed by others - notably Tom Petty, Santana and Lynyrd Skynyrd. 9BHSUKQSUFNS

Biggie smalls 20 years We talk about the deaths of Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur in this first episode of Biggie Smalls' anniversary show, Unsolved (RIP Biggie Smalls).. After talking about Tupac in Vegas, we're heading back on the road to talk about Biggie in Los Angeles. So let's get started. Christopher Wallace, often known as Biggie Smalls or the Notorious B.I.G., was in attendance at a Soul Train Awards after-party on March 9, 1997, at the Peterson Auto Museum in Los Angeles. Around a.m., Biggie Smalls and Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy of Puff Daddy and the head of the east coast record label Bad Boy Records, where Biggie was signed, departed the event. P. Diddy and other people departed in a vehicle, and Biggie and his driver and two buddies left on their own. While travelling north on Fairfax Avenue, Biggie's car followed Diddy's vehicle, but only Biggie's vehicle would come to a halt at the intersection with Wilshire Boulevard. At the inter...

Brandon Marshall kneels during the National Anthem of the NFL Season-Opener

What's up guys? For TOP TRENDING NEWS STORIES TODAY, I'm Julius Purnomo, and during the NFL's season opener on Thursday night, Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall kneeled in support of fellow NFL player Colin Kaepernick during the National Anthem. Marshall, who played with the 49ers QB in college, recently spoke with the Colorado Springs Gazette, telling them that he fully supports Kaepernick's decision to sit out during the anthem. "I understand where he’s coming from," he said, adding, "I definitely see what he’s saying. I support him on that.   I’m not mad at him for that." Naturally, all of the stuffy and ignorant people on Twitter called out the Broncos player, writing some pretty offensive things like,  Who the hell cares about an overpaid pansy ass punk that can run fast?" Not impressed. @BMarshall and Overpaid THUG!Disrespect our nation, our flag, and our anthem.   Boycott @Broncos It should also be no surprise that the woman who wrote...
